Shrine to the childhood friendships we wish we haD by Holly goodridge and Zeth Cameron 2024

    Bus Projects 2024

SHRINE TO THE CHILDHOOD FRIENDSHIPS WE WISH WE HAD

Holly and Zeth are (autistic) friends and co-residents of a vibrant studio, wanting to create the spaces they have longed for and lost. This project is a colourful house from painted fabric panels, found objects and textiles, transforming the gallery into an immersive and whimsical space of queer joy, collaborative play and radical acceptance of ourselves and each other. Upon entering the house, you are invited to participate in activities inspired by the artists’ real and imagined childhoods, such as friendship bracelet weaving, air dry clay and keepsake making. Keep what you make, swap with a new friend, or add it to the house decoration. Let’s collectively imagine a softer, safer world for everyone who is in it.

Holly Goodridge is a queer and neurodiverse artist producing work at the intersection of painting, sculpture and installation. For Holly, practice is an escape from the constrictions of neurotypicality. Holly uses the motif of portals to express their need to create and inhabit a softer safer space apart from reality. @hollygoodridgeart

Zeth Cameron is an emerging installation artist interested in mixing media and moods as a form of audio-visual intervention. Their practice is grounded in their experiences with ADHD and gender non-conformity and embraces work that is tonally ambivalent or seemingly ‘incomplete’ as a sort of queer disability-led praxis. @zethcameron
